Module 1: Getting Started & Intro

Kicking off the semester with Module 1, there were some significant learning factors for me in this course. I am excited because we started learning some really interesting tools and resources that I have been wanting to learn. To me this course already seems beneficial and exciting!

The most significant thing that I learned was the history of the internet and the growth over many years. How the World Wide Web also known as WWW has developed over history with computer systems continuously growing and evolving.

In Module 1 we discussed HYPERTEXT. A text displayed ultimately making it easier to navigate by the user taking them from source to source. We learned about PROTOCOLS which are a set of rules set for internet communication.

Technology Trends are continuing to evolve right along with the WWW. These are patterns of development in technology that are growing and trending. Trends set to help businesses as well as consumers.

The other two things I learned were how to use Canva and Blogger. These are going to be so useful to me in the future and something that I have wanted to learn for a while I just have not gotten around to it. I am SOOO excited honestly!!

Canva we created an account and learned the basics and created out first slideshow on Emerging Technologies. I choose to do it on Generative AI. I thought it was important to know more about it as it's emerging quickly and also very useful now, as I even used it while creating my Canva presentation.

For Blogger, we created this Blog that you are reading right now! We created a new account and created our very first Blog post, in which I am having so much fun with! I am learning the basics of creating and posting. So far, I have learned how to embed codes, which I used to input the Canva slideshow I made above, add website links to display just the name of the source and attach the link to make it shorter and more! Then we learned how to use Padlet, created an account and posted our Canva link there for our classmates to view and enjoy. This has been a fun start this course.

Overall, I think I have been able to navigate this course well. It has just taken me a little longer to learn some of the things that I have to do with each task. Like learning how to embed, I have to go back and watch that part of the video several times (don't judge lol). BUT you provided very great steps through, so I used my resources! Using the reminder app is best for me, I also get a text message. If I am not able to find it and need to reference back to it, I just go right to the remind app.

I think my participation has been good. I do think that I may have overlooked the Word Cloud because I misunderstood the original assignment, so I plan to go back and review it!

Module 1 has been full of knowledge and learning for me! I really like seeing everything I worked on come together in my journal and I look forward to seeing the hard work my classmates put in as well.
