Module 4: Information and Media Literacy

 In Module 4 we discussed Information and Media Literacy and how to understand and apply it. We did multiple activities where we learned how to search on google, how to ready webpages more in depth and also how to identify true and false information. Tips Learned for Searching Google - 1. The Advanced search option is a good resource if you cannot find something, but it is not needed often.  2. By setting your location it will help narrow down the search. 3. Most search engines function the same, it does not matter which one you use, its more preference.  I learned some significant things in this module. One big thing that was discussed was how we get our news. As a person who isn't up to date daily on all news and politics, I think discussing this was important for me because knowing if the sources are credible is important. We all should know if the source is trustworthy. So, something we can do if we are unsure is to make sure the source is also trusted and fact check!...

Module 3: Digital Literacy: Cybersecurity

In Module 3 we discussed Digitial Literacy and being knowledgeable and mindful when it comes to cybersecurity and the internet. It is important to know the basics of Internet Safety, so you are protected from the sharing your personal data and getting virus on your software.  Internet Safety Takeaways: 1.) Introduction to Internet Safety - The internet is a reliable source for many for communicating and accessing internet. Being mindful of the risks and how to avoid them will keep you safe. 2.) Creating Strong Passwords- You will need a password with each account online you have. You will want to make your password strong. No names, pet names, popular names or personal information. Use long words with letters and special characters and no patterns. 3.) Browser Security Features- Always confirm the site you want to use before searching, that way you make sure you are accessing a trusted site. Module 2: Internet Technologies

In Module two we learned about Internet Tecnologies. We learned about types of internet connections and connecting to the internet. Connecting to the internet depends on five things. These things are Protocols , hardware , software , connections and service providers . I also learned how to customize google chrome and make a screen recording while customizing my chrome. This was fun to do, although it took me a minute to understand the concept, but I finally figured it out and I'm glad I did because I understand the process now and think it will be useful in the future.
